Agile for the enterprise

Tier 2 Consulting uses an agile development approach, based on SCRUM. This promotes evolutionary development and delivery, and provides the flexibility to accommodate changing and evolving requirements.

Starting with initial exploratory meetings, we work closely with our clients to scope all projects – because we understand that organisations need estimated timeframes and costs as early as possible. Further, many organisations have well defined project governance processes (particularly those in regulated industries) – so compliance with these is mandatory.

To accommodate this, the major benefits of an agile approach are merged with key aspects of a more traditional project methodology. Even within these agile frameworks, we still ensure that our projects are ‘wrapped’ in a traditional, familiar phased approach that still meets governance requirements.

This diagram summarises our ‘model project’. The model is tailored on a case by case basis to meet specific needs of each customer and project.

Post-Implementation Support

As with all services that Tier 2 Consulting provides, post-implementation support and maintenance for custom applications is tailored to specific customer needs. We won’t just leave you high and dry after building your apps!

For those customers who have their own internal support team, Tier 2 Consulting structure a handover process – based on technical workshops and documentation – to ensure that the customer has sufficient knowledge of the application or development standards to provide effective support. But we don’t run away – we are available in a 3rd line support capacity should our input be required post-handover.

Other customers prefer Tier 2 Consulting to support the custom development. We implement a standard support process (see diagram below), within which any issues are handled according to pre-agreed service level agreements (SLAs). This support service can also be extended to handle smallchange requests, providing the customer with a one-stop-shop for all application support & maintenance requirements.
